Force basketball held Parent Night at the clinic and I ended up running a
bunch of drills and playing against all the other dads in some scrimmages.
It was a blast and Kari really appreciated my efforts too.

This team had a tough defense, but in the second half was outplayed by our
girls making outside shots and putting on the pressure.

Kari is on a new team this year, Force, with a great coach and just a few
players. She will develop some great skills this year.

Congratulations to my varsity soccer daughter!

My oldest daughter is a freshman in high school this year (we have 9-12th graders in our high school) and over the last three days she has been trying out for the soccer team. We just found out today that she actually made the VARSITY team! This is quite an accomplishment for high school and we are all very excited. I think I’ll have to go find her something nice as a congratulations gift while I am here in Singapore.

She will be busy playing club and high school soccer while my middle daughter will be playing club soccer and my youngest will be playing select soccer. As you can see we will be living soccer this fall and winter.

Thank God for my wonderful family and all the blessings he has given me.

With God leading the way, how could Kansas lose?

Like most sports fans, I watched the men’s NCAA national championship basketball game last week that had the Kansas Jayhawks battling the Memphis Tigers. Memphis was ahead by 9 with 2:12 remaining, but a combination of their poor free throw percentage and Kansas’ determination and play resulted in a tie in regulation. Kansas then went on to blow out Memphis in overtime to take the national championship.

Kevin posted an interesting newspaper article that shows Kansas may have had more than just great players on their side. I have no idea what the beliefs or practices were of the Memphis coaches and players and won’t begin to make any comparisons between the two teams in terms of spirituality. However, it was great to read the article and see how the Lord was so prevalent at Kansas where the coach and players have no fear in talking about and praising Him for everything He did to bless their team.

More soccer news from the Miller girls

My oldest daughter has spent the last 4 days trying out for her middle school soccer team and we were told last night that she made the varsity team! Maybe my wife and I should have had 8 more kids to form a full soccer team

I just started thinking and figured out my oldest will have a ton of soccer to play starting now. She will play in this Spring varsity school soccer, then move on to summer and fall Club soccer, and then onto high school soccer in the fall too. She is quite excited about it and I can’t wait to take it all in.

Another Miller girl selected to play for Washington Premier FC!

My middle daughter played premier select soccer for a couple of years before deciding to focus most of her attention to basketball (she just took second in a Hot Shot competition last night). I have been coaching my youngest daughter in soccer for 4 years and this last weekend she decided to try out for the Girls U-11 team at Washington Premier. BTW, she is only 8 years old. We just received a call this morning and she was selected for the Navy team (they have Black and White teams too), which is where we hoped she would play since she is still young. She will be able to now play on U-11 teams for 2 or maybe 3 years and will develop lots of skills. My middle daughter advanced at an extremely fast rate playing for this team and we are all very excited for my daughter. She did an excellent job at tryouts and the coach mentioned how happy and excited Kari was in the tryouts and that he looks forward to coaching her this year.

In other Miller soccer news, my oldest daughter (now in 8th grade) has her final day of tryouts for school soccer and will most likely be selected to the varsity team. We’ll find out tomorrow night if she made it, but she LOVES soccer and really works hard so I am sure she will make it as well.
