and Noreve N900 case to review this weekend. Then on Saturday morning
another NDA device was sent for Monday revelation. It is so good to be a

It was a crazy couple of days at CES 2010 in Vegas and I wish I had more
time to wander the show floor. Here are my two favorite devices, the N900
and Nexus One.

I ordered a Google Nexus One for overnight delivery to my hotel in Vegas and
a destroyed box ended up arriving with the airbags inside completely
flattened too. Thankfully, the actual device box was very solid and
everything was good inside.

I am staying at the Mirage this tear and it is very nice. Much better
than the scary Casino Royale I stayed in before.

PocketBible 4 is AWESOME, especially on the Diamond

I posted about the release a couple weeks ago and with lots of new devices to evaluate I have been installing PocketBible 4 on them (if they are Windows Mobile) so I can read on the train ride in and out of town. They really took it to the next level with the layout saving capability, scrolling page turns, highlighting and notes support in non-touch screen devices, maximize windows, flick gestures, and much more.

It looks absolutely fantastic on the high resolution display of the HTC Touch Diamond that I am evaluating and with a super small device like this it is easy to have the Bible with you at all times.

Whatever happened to respect and integrity?

Wow, some people online are amazing how they can be so rude and self-serving. I don’t want to get into details since there is a long history of someone I know disrespecting a ton of people (media, public relations, bloggers, etc.) for their own self-serving needs, but I am a bit ticked off that anyone would question my integrity. As a Christian man of the Lord I hold myself to a high level of honesty and truthfulness and would never sell myself out for a silly mobile device. Readers here and on my ZDNet blog know that I always lay it out as I see it and never gloss over or hide any facts about devices because of my integrity and my desire to make sure you all can make the best purchase decisions for yourselves.

The fact that some fool questions me isn’t an issue since that is their right, but to so rudely post publicly about it without the courtesy to contact me first to discuss the issue is uncalled for. Maybe I have newer firmware on my device so my experience is different. Maybe the person should watch my videos where I clearly show exactly what I am talking about. One reason I now do a lot of videos is so that you experience exactly what I am experiencing.

Wouldn’t it be nice if common courtesy and respect was brought back to our society? Let’s make a difference and try to lead by example OK folks.

A couple of hot mobile devices in my hand

I just posted a first impressions article on the REDFLY Windows Mobile Smartphone Companion that you may enjoy reading. It is a very nice piece of hardware, but if it is priced at US$500 then it seems to lose much of its appeal. There is no OS on the device like the Palm Foleo had and it just extends your Windows Mobile device to a larger display and keyboard. I like the idea and would snap one up for US$200, but not at US$500.

I do have a photo of PocketBible with Maps running on the 8 inch display of the REDFLY so maybe this could be a good Bible study device to work with the powerful Bible applications available on Windows Mobile.

I also have another device that I have to keep secret for now, but check out my ZDNet site early next week for a HUGE review.

Back from Barcelona, lots of great wireless devices and services

I am now back home and spent all weekend hanging with my family after being gone for a week. If you haven’t checked out my many posts from the Mobile World Congress then you may want to head on over to my ZDNet blog and check some of them out. I had a chance to get my hands on a Google Android device, XPERIA X1, Nokia N96, the Readius eInk device and a ton of other devices. I also enjoyed seeing Share on Ovi, Opera Mobile 9.5, and other mobile services and applications.

That should be it for my mobile related trips this year as I have already burned half of my vacation time for CES and MWC.
