I love using Laridian’s iPocketBible, but I need an offline app that let’s me take notes so I was pretty excited to see the Mantis Bible that supports offline text and notes. I asked about syncing or backing up notes because I would hate to lose all my sermon notes with an iPhone crash.
BTW, I created and posted this from my iPhone, but had to make final edits on a PC since it doesn’t appear that the iPhone utility supports HTML code, hyperlinks, etc. and still need some work. It is good for a quick post here and there though.

Matt – you should check out Acro Bible’s / PocketLight’s Bible’s too. I’ve been using their ESV version for about a week – pretty nice.

Very cool. Good to see the attention to the iPhone; sad that the Internet Tablet cannot even get one though with this functionality.

Thanks for the tips guys. I did see Acro Bible’s solution and it looks pretty good too. I can’t find the PocketLight one you mention Rob unless they are one and the same
I REALLY wanted to see Laridian launch with an iPhone Bible, but am not sure how long we will have to wait to see a product from them. I have also been keeping an eye out on OliveTree. I am actually a little surprised that neither of these two mobile Bible providers had something ready at launch. It will be interesting since there are some other great products coming out and right now this Mantis one is on my device. Shoot, it is free so we should all have it loaded up.

AcroBible / PocketLight are one in the same. You’ll find it under AcroBible, but it wil install as PocketLight ( at least the earlier version did ). I really like this one because of support for ESV. Has bookmarks, notes, etc.
