Moving that much closer to getting another Treo 650

Uh oh, I just found a great resource for getting PDF files on a Treo 650, which was one of the major issues preventing me from going with this awesome device. Cook Consulting Services offers a PDF conversion service for $40 per year where you send the PDF in via email and it comes back to you as a JPG image with all text, drawings, etc. intact.

I also found out that the HTC Wizard may be delayed until October now and I am getting antsy to try an EDGE enabled device out now that T-Mobile reportedly has EDGE is 90% of its coverage area. I LOVED the Treo form factor and am very leery of the Windows Mobile 5.0 keyboard integration and am worried I may just use the thumb keyboard for text entry and not for stylus-free use. Don't be surprised if you read here that another Treo 650 is on the way :)

  • Hello!

I just wanted to mention the great software called Repligo. Repligo can convert PDF's so that they take less space and it works very well. Check it out at http://www.cerience.com

    Kindest regards

  • Mr. Andrée,

I know about RepliGo and personally LOVE the application. The problem is that I have to first convince everyone who sends me PDF files to first convert the documents using RepliGo. I hope that RepliGo becomes the new standard for mobile devices. I wish there was some way to have documents converted into RepliGo similar to the service I mentioned that converts them to JPG files. I think I'll contact the guy who offers the service and see if he can convert to RepliGo instead, now that would be AWESOME!!!

  • Try to get your hands on the Picsel Viewer that came with the Samsung i539 - it can view PDFs natively.

    More details here:

    I love my Treo 650! ;-)
